The purpose of your pleasure circuit is to produce emotional pleasure as a motivation for your resilience and endurance in the face of uncertainty and the difficult challenges of living.
It is helpful to simplify your complex brain by integrating the idea of your pleasure circuit within the overall concept of the global neuronal signaling circuitry of your brain's physical structures, now known by brain scientists as your connectome.
Reliable scientific ideas about how you can manage your pleasure circuit are more easily accessible than at any other time in history. Your biology-driven pleasure-center (hedonic treadmill) can be modified by a basic understanding of how your thoughts can control your feelings and how you can create homeostasis, which is a healthy sustainable emotional balance in your life.
